Dwelling

These pieces are colored pencil and graphite pencil drawings on wood panels. Making them, I think about the cross currents and pathways that lead us to where we are and where we are going, that extend laterally across geography and also the layers that extend vertically into memory and the depths of consciousness. I combine images of interior and exterior space, containment and flight and the vast and the small. I enjoy building these relationships into a texture of closely woven tiny marks to suggest the intimacy of our nesting places co-habiting with the immensity of our inner lives.
